Green products are popping up everywhere you look these days and due to the ever increasing popularity of the Eco friendly movement, many new home based business’s are being built too.

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics conservatively guesses there are more than 18.3 million home based business’s in the U.S. and of them, less than 10% are currently selling a green product on the Internet. That’s up a couple of percent from just last year.

With numbers like those it’s easy to see why so many new home business’s are moving to sell green products online.

If you’re one of those moving your Internet business in this direction, here’s 3 tips you can use to maximize your online exposure and get your green product in front of thousands of hungry buyers.

1- Write Articles and Reviews

By far, the easiest way to promote any green product is through article marketing.

Article submission sites are numbered in the thousands online and 90% of them are free to join. If your article is accepted it could be read by thousands in a single day, getting you free massive traffic to the green product you are promoting.

And, anyone can do it.

Article writing on the Internet is nothing like writing a novel. Your readers on the web want to read your words as if you were standing in front of them and having a conversation.

To give you a good tip on article writing: Just do it.

Sure, your first article might suck, and your 5th article might be bad, but I’ll bet your 10th article will be pretty good.

Picture a funnel in your mind, the top of the funnel is the $10.00 green product you are promoting. This will get a lot of traffic, but minimal profit.

Although…

Wouldn’t it be wise to think that if your customer came to you for a $10.00 product, they might be interested in a $20.00 product?

That’s the middle of the funnel. A little less traffic, but a better profit margin.

And if they were interested in the 20.00 product, don’t you think they might consider the $50.00 product?

That’s the bottom of the funnel. The least amount of traffic but with the greatest profit margin.

Sustainable fashion is fashion that is designed to be environmentally friendly. Fashion designers have recently adopted the idea of sustainability, using more environmentally-friendly materials and methods in clothing production like reduction in wastage, reduction in chemical usage, usage of scrap fabric, gunny bags etc. But are the apparel made out of them actually wearable? The DPOL technology can be used to manufacture high quality fashion garments with mitering at various panels. Another advantage is that it can also support smaller orders: with quantities starting at one single unit, one can get garments according to their own fit, style and need. This could open brand new possibilities for sustainably minded designers: presently designers source normal fabrics and do the surface ornamentation (embroidery/prints etc) whenever required .This method gives them the opportunity to put the design into the fabrics. One can have different weaves or designs on pockets, collars, cuffs or wherever required. Weaves can produce different textures and designs as desired and fabrics can be designed as per the final silhouette of the final garment so that right kind of design falls at right place, giving a brand new meaning to custom-made!

Lower Eletric and Water Utility costs
Thin-film solar and Atmospheric Water Generation are two affordable technolgies that fit expectioannly well in the Caribbean region. With the abundance of sunshine we receive intermingled with overcast days, it is still estimated that a solar radiation of 4-5 hours per day is typical for the region. Using lighweight thin-film solar, with a capacity of an estimated 5 watts/sq ft. a typical 1,200 sq ft home could easily support a roof laminted 3,000 Watt solar power system. A system of this size would generate an estimated 12-15kWh per day.  By reducing electiical lighintg, cooling, and appliance loads to less than 4k the solar system can also be recued in size.

How do we reduce our electrical load calculations? Design and retrofit with L.E.D. Lighting,  A typical home using high efficiency L.E.D. lighting would use just under 250 Watts for the entire lighting circuit and provide equal or higher lumen output than convenienal incandescent or CFL lighting systems. These lighweight concrete panels are produced by manufacturers that are members of the Unites States Green Building Council (USGBC) such as T.Clear Corp of Hamilton  Ohio. Their ProTec® CSIP building system  provides less skilled labor, reduces wall construction time to a matter days verses months and is competitively afforadble when compared to block or conventioanl construction techniques. The company literature states the panels are “framing, sheathing, insulation and interior wall surface all in one. This equates to building more homes in les time with fewer associated costs and waste.

Enhanced Health and Productivity
Clean water, fresh air, low VOC and no off-gasing products should be the benchmark for homes built under the “green” design concept. Energy conservation and eco-friendly homes do not happen by accident, it takes planning and design guidelines to ensure homes provide comfort, style and are also affordable.
