Pet Day Care – The Secret To A Happy Pet!

Similar to leaving your child at home some may even have pets at home that are left alone when the owners go to work. Pets also need attention and love to be poured by someone. The only solution to get rid of this problem is to seek help from the pet daycare service. Keeping such things in mind there are pet day care centers organized by many people. They will feed, groom, train and play with them in the absence of the owners.

The pet day care is divided into two different categories: actual day care and boarding services. Boarding services are open to animals from horses to hamsters. Usually, the pets whose owners are away for a long time are taken care of. The duration varies widely from even overnight to a period of six months or even more. Such day cares are approached if there is a lack of space at home for large animals like horses and others. They are provided with toys, feeding dishes and sleeping space.

Unlike this there are even pets that are left alone only during the working hours of the owner. For such cases there pet day care centers that function for these kind of animals every day. The pets are left in these centers and are later picked up after their work. Usually they are mainly opened to small dogs and sometimes other animals. As usual feeding bowls, toys and bedding are provided by the organizers. At certain doggy day cares exclusively for dogs they are trained by staffs for better health management, safety and for good dog behavior.

Usually the puppies are taken care of separately away from the older ones. Puppies are given special attention providing them a separate area. They are given the basic training and are always kept active and playful. There is always time allotted for naps and play. Basically doggy day care centers have many features and the best day care suited to us can be chosen.

These days the current trend is day care for pet spas. The focus is basically on smaller animals. Here they are exercised, pampered and groomed in the similar manner as done to humans when they visit a spa. Their hair, teeth, nails and ears are taken care of and they are massaged, walked and played with. They have trained staffs to take over these tasks. These services are exclusively for small animals like ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs and cats. Even overnight stays are provided along with boarding facilities. There are do-it-yourself centers where the owners have to train and groom their own pets to increase the bond between them. The spa provides the necessary space and also shampoo, grooming equipments, wash basin and nail clippers. They can serve the best for such animals.

Emergency pet care is taken very seriously at a vet hospital. They strive to have more than enough equipment and staff on hand to deal with all types of situations. In this article we will highlight some of the services that a veterinary hospital provides to pets. It is always a good thing to be prepared and know the type of services offered beforehand. Pet owners will find this information very helpful.

Scan and X-Ray Services – Important for Diagnosis

Most veterinary clinics simply do not have the right equipment to conduct detailed scans and x-rays on a pet. Hence they always recommend that a pet be examined at a hospital for any serious medical condition or symptoms. A veterinary hospital can accommodate different types of pets. They have the capability to conduct in-depth brain scans and X-rays of all parts of the body to identify potential fractures, broken bones and/or diseases.

Pet Surgery – It Saves Lives

Surgery is one aspect no one looks forward to whether it involves pets or humans. However at times it can be the only solution to saving a pets life. A vet hospital has a distinguished fleet of surgeons working around the clock to deal with different types of pet surgeries. These surgeries can be related to bones, muscle tissue or any other vital organs. Some pet related injuries may require immediate surgery. A veterinary hospital is essentially a life saver is such circumstances.

24 Hour Around The Clock Pet Care

Veterinary clinics are bound by specific hours. A veterinary hospital isn’t. They are a 24 hour medical facility that responds to all types of pet emergencies at any time of the day or night. Pet emergencies often times occur out of the blue and at unexpected times. Due to this, pet owners view hospitals with admiration and the peace of mind that good pet care is just around the corner no matter the time and how dire the situation.

Qualified Staff and Veterinarians

Speaking of good pet care, a veterinary hospital is just as good as the staff and doctors that operate it. The same goes for vet clinics as well. However a hospital employs a larger staff and has more experienced specialists in its fleet capable of handling all pet emergencies.

If your pet has a specific medical condition or disease, it is always a good idea to check with the local veterinary hospital for all the types of pet services they provide. A pet’s health and well being is the pet owner’s responsibility and in situations like these it is always advisable to be prepared for both the expected and the unexpected.

Miracle 2 Soap – How to Use Organic Green Products for Cleaning, Detox and Personal Care

Due to the interest in using biodegradable products, not adding chemicals to our bodies and the desire to avoid inhaling strong fragrances that also may be caustic to the skin, many people are now turning towards eco-friendly go green products. The majority of these are in concentrate form, so it’s important to know how to dilute them for proper usage. Miracle II soap and skin products have been around for over twenty five years. Because they are used in so many different contexts, I will give some common ways that work well around the home and for personal hygiene.

First of all, the miracle ii soap needs to be mixed with water in different proportions. What I find works best is to get some of those 22 or 24 oz spray bottles from the drug store or larger chain stores. It also is useful to get some of those little dropper bottles.

Everyone’s body ph and water hardness is different, so proportions of water and miracle ii soap will vary but here are some general guidelines for common applications:

1) Mix 1 – 1 1/2 teaspoons of the regular miracle ii soap with water to fill up the 24 oz spray bottle. You need to add the water slowly because it makes a lot of suds and is hard to fill the bottle otherwise. This can be used for general household cleaning. You can also make stronger mixtures using 2-3 teaspoons for tougher cleaning jobs in a different spray bottle.

2) Use an old pump soap bottle from dial or ivory and put in 1 part soap, 1 part neutralizer and 5 parts water. This works well in the kitchen and bathroom to wash hands. If you like it thicker add more soap. If thinner, add more water. You can also use this in the shower as a nice body wash. Some people prefer to use moisturizing soap for this purpose, especially in the winter when skin can dry out.

3) For baths, use 4 caps of the moisturizing or miracle ii soap and fill tub with water. If you have the neutralizer, 3 caps of that added is advised. Soak for twenty to thirty minutes. You can assist your skin by using a wash cloth to scrub your body. If the water gets cool, add more hot water so you are comfortable. This is useful for the skin to release toxins as the skin is our largest organ of elimination.

4) For laundry, you can use a few teaspoons of miracle ii soap (either regular or moisturizing) to wash your clothing. If your water is hard, you can add a little baking soda. The company also has a laundry ball instead which is reusable for 3 years and requires no added soap. If you are washing whites, add some white vinegar for additional whitening power.

After taking a bath, use the bath water in your toilets and sinks to keep them clean and free of grease that may clog them.

The moisturizer has no preservatives in it so it’s best to use it within a six month period. Recently, Dr. Adrienne Olson, a breast cancer survivor herself, sent in sixteen moisturizers to be tested in a lab. It turns out that six of them had estrogen-like ingredients. Since not all the ingredients need to be listed on moisturizers, this makes things difficult for consumers who are trying to be health-conscious.

Your vet is a pretty significant figure in your dog’s life – and thus, in yours. Hopefully, you’ll only ever need him or her for routine checkups and preventative procedures; but just in case, it’s worth taking the time to develop a good relationship with a suitable vet, before you need their services.

WHERE AT LOOK

Sure, you could just pick a vet at random from the Yellow Pages or from an Internet search; but having the right vet is crucial to your dog’s health and happiness (and, presumably, this plays at least some part in your own happiness and peace of mind as an owner, right?)

Think about it this way: if you were trying to choose a doctor for yourself, would you be happy to just select one at random from an impersonal list?

Probably not. You’d want somebody who comes highly recommended – somebody you feel like you can trust.

Your vet isn’t just your dog’s doctor; he or she is also the dentist, manicurist, psychologist, and – hopefully! – a friend. When you roll all these things up into one, you can see why it’s necessary to spend some time confirming that you’ve made the right choice.

The best place to start looking for a vet is by word of mouth. If you have any friends or relatives who take good care of their dogs, then that’s a great place to start: ask them who they’d recommend, and why. This last one is particularly important, because everyone has different priorities: for example, perhaps they like their own vet because he/she is a specialist in their own particular breed; or they don’t charge very much; or the clinic is only five minutes’ drive … their priorities are not necessarily yours, so it’s a good idea to make sure that your values coincide with the person giving the recommendations.

Another great place to find a vet is through local training clubs (Schutzhund, agility, herding classes, police K-9 academies, etc.) These organizations are almost guaranteed to place a great deal of importance on high-quality veterinary care, because the health and well-being of their dogs is such a priority.

Once you’ve got a list of vets that you’re interested in pursuing further, all you have to do is call up the clinic and explain that you’re looking to find a regular vet for your dog(s): can you come in for a quick chat, introduce your dog, and have a look at the premises?

HAVE A LOOK BEFORE YOU NEED TO

Before you decide to align yourself and your dog with a particular clinic, test the waters first. Ideally, you want a chance to talk to the vet, and discuss his or her philosophies and approach to pet care.

This is really important. If your dog ever really needs vet-care (if there’s an emergency, or if she needs an urgent short-term appointment), you want to be sure that you’ve made the best possible choice as far as her health and comfort levels are concerned. Neither of you should be subjected to any unnecessary extra stress at a time like that – and you can avoid a lot of grief by spending a bit of time in preparation.

THINGS TO ASK THE VET

While you’re at the clinic, you’ll want to be assessing your potential vet’s overall attitude and approach to health care and animals; and you’ll also probably want answers to some specific questions.

Here’s a list of useful questions to help you on your way:

- How many vets are there on staff? If you need to make an urgent appointment, you don’t want to be waiting around while precious minutes tick past. Ideally, there’ll be at least two qualified veterinarians on hand (not just technicians or assistants.)

- What kind of testing and analysis capabilities does the clinic have. If they have to send away to a lab for this kind of stuff, it means that the results are going to be delayed. If your dog is very sick, time is an important factor: it’s best if the clinic has at least blood-analysis testing on hand.

- What after-hours services are available? A lot of clinics close the doors in the evenings and on weekends, which means that if there’s an emergency, you’ll have to go somewhere else – and subject your dog (and yourself) to an unfamiliar vet. (If you don’t mind this, then that’s fine; but be aware that in a high-stress situation when emotions are running high, it’s reassuring for your dog and yourself to deal with someone familiar.)

- What’s their price range? How are payments made? Is there a facility for payment plans in case of unexpected vet bills? The payment-plan option is particularly important. Even with pet insurance, vet bills can sometimes be astronomical – and not everyone has the resources to deal with large vet bills straight away. Ask the clinic how they cater for situations like that.

- How up-to-date is the staff with advances in the industry? Do the vet, the technicians, and the assistants attend seminars and workshops regularly? The field of medical care is always moving forward – responsible vets make the effort to keep up with the times, and see that their staff do, too.

MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE

When you choose a vet, you’re balancing convenience and quality. There’s no right or wrong vet for you and your dog – which is partly why making the choice can be so confusing. There are lots of vets to choose from, and they’re all different!

Even though it’s tempting to go for the one right around the corner with the rock-bottom prices, it really is worthwhile taking the time to shop around. Your dog is utterly dependent on you for her healthcare – and if you take her seriously as a companion and member of the family, you’ll want to do the best thing by her.

A good vet knows how to take care of you as well as your dog. The relationship that you have with your vet will hopefully be one that’s based around a healthy mutual respect and positive synergy – there should be very little scope for misunderstanding. When the two of you see eye to eye, it makes caring for your dog that much easier.

Your dogs teeth should be checked and brushed at least weekly, preferably more often. Dental hygiene is another bit of preventive medicine that can be easily accomplished if begun while your dog is a pup. Your investment in a canine toothbrush and toothpaste will pay for itself many times over.

Specially prepared food materials are available in pet stores that help remove tartar and plaque from the teeth structures. Rubber toys smeared with toothpaste will also act as a tooth brush when they chew on it. Some dry dog foods are specially made to add strength to the teeth structures and fight plaque.

Plaque buildup should be removed periodically to avoid any occurrence of periodontal diseases, which are common among dogs. Dental wipes, which are available in pet stores, also helps to remove more plaque and tartar like materials that are loosely attached to the dogs teeth.

Like with humans, dogs need proper dental care. Dental care for dogs should be as important as taking care of our own teeth.

Lawn Maintenance

There are a few different angles from which to approach lawn care as a business. The most obvious side of the industry is the actual work of maintaining the lawn itself, and there are three businesses I would recommend for their excellence in the market.
