The item arrived at my house before it was even listed as “shipped” in the Amazon order status system – very prompt service from DBROTH. It’s only been here a week, but I’m already quite pleased with it. It is large enough to accumulate veggie/fruit trimmings for a week (for a 2-person household, anyhow), and there is no smell thanks to the filter.

This “read” better than it works in real life. Yes, it’s attractive, but OH BOY does it let in the fruit flies. I’m sticking with my ice cream bucket to collect my food scraps. Waste of money, it was.

This is the best one I’ve found anywhere. It’s built well, looks nice, and doesn’t smell, even when I haven’t taken the contents out to the compost pile for a week.
Because the item’s title says “composter”, I should warn the less experienced that you cannot complete the compost process inside this bucket. This is a storage container used to hold scraps of food, so you don’t have to run out to the back yard every time you eat a banana.
